Level 3: Intermediate Movements & Concepts

6 week course starting Monday 16 April.

  • Time: 17:30-18:45
  • Experience Level: This class is for those who have at least three previous classes in American Tribal Style Bellydance or Tribal Fusion
  • Fee: 750,- NOK (see combo packages)

Want to make interesting, close and intimate troupe formations? Learn how to achieve contrasts in movements while using the phrasing in the music to create dynamic dance pieces. Students will be led through exercises to stimulate creativity. Modern ATS moves and combos will be covered, working on ways to transition in and out of them and add them to your repertoire.

Strong emphasis is placed on creating interesting transitions to make the improvisation less predictable. Strong emphasis is also placed on developing a correct posture and a sharp articulation emphasizing movement and rhythm.

The goal is to give students the tools to more effectively help link movements together to create their own combinations and to ultimately create a very complete performance. We will also discuss the elements of strong stage presence.

Must have good technique in all moves covered in the level 1 workshop: Taxeem, Hand Floreo, Arm Undulation, Bodywave, Torso Rotation, Circle Step, Egyptian, Arabic, Pivot Bump/Choo Choo and Shimmy.

Level 4: Advanced Formations

6 week course starting Monday 16 April.

  • Time: 18:45-20
  • Experience Level: This class is for those who have at least four previous classes in American Tribal Style Bellydance or Tribal Fusion
  • Fee: 750,- NOK (see combo packages)

Do you want to transform your performance with smooth transitions into interesting formations like Dueling Duets, Diagonals and Café Style, and using fade and circle to create depth and texture in the group improvisation? In this workshop, we will explore the tight-knit formations that can be created to take ATS to the next level.

We will work on dramatic slow, precise and lyrical movements, fast and travelling steps, and movements that can be used in levels. We will explore different styles of staging and dance composition.

Must have good technique in all moves covered in the level 1 and 2 workshops. Students are highly encouraged to continue level 4 in conjunction with level 3 (see combo packages).
