Jorunn is the founder of Oslo Tribal Bellydance School and has trained in ballet, modern, jazz, ballroom and belly dance, until she discovered American Tribal Style® bellydance in 2002.
Jorunn Sjølli is the only person in Norway accepted into Carolena Nericcio’s intensive Teacher Training Course. In 2009 Jorunn received her teaching accreditation in the highly regarded FatChanceBellyDance® (FCBD®) format and Jorunn is a FatChanceBellyDance® Sister Studio. Jorunn has studied with Carolena Nericcio from FatChanceBellyDance® and Megha Gavin from Devyani Dance Company since 2006 including completing the General Skills Certificate with Carolena in 2009.
Jorunn is the founder and artistic director of Tribal Comets which is an American Tribal Style® bellydance troupe.
Jorunn is a co-founder of Tribal Troopers which is an Improvisational Tribal Style belly dance (ITS) troupe. Jenny Lovise Staurset is the artistic director. Tribal Troopers arranges Tribal Camp Oslo in September every year and the show Battle of the Tribes at the same time. Jenny and Jorunn also arrange the annual benefit show Hawk in the Nest.
